I am trying to integrate into my power supply an UPS to maintain at least exhaust fan operation in the event of a power outage. I have a generator to run the system in a power outage but recently the power went off suddenly and with a fire in the fire pot, smoke seeped out through the door and other gaskets into the living room. I want to know if I can simply plug in an leave a computer UPS in the line to keep the fan running long enough for the stove to run out of fuel and avoid the puff of smoke.

Why not change the gaskets so they dont leak? Stove will more than likely run better too.
