Just replaced a wood insert with a pellet stove, needed to build a base to support the weight, the base has a 2.5 inch piece of bluestone then a wood frame underneath to the ground probably about 2.5 feet. Is this an issue at all in regards to heat?

From a heat standpoint, it should't matter. The bigger question is whether or not the inspector will have an issue with it.
