Pellet stoves with mirror fire door glass - How do you like them?

Hello

The stove fairy helped me find this lonely 8 y/o Harman P68 no longer in use.

So, I brought it home and it fired right up! It needed a good cleaning, some rust removing, prep and some good paint inside and out. Then some "Dry Moly" on the burn pot and exhaust impeller.

Does anyone have neo ceram mirror glass? How do you like it? The local glass place does not have it and cannot get it! ! !

Is it a Harman only item? It seems nice. The fire can be seen when running and then the dirty fire box cannot be seen when not running!

I just finished installing my Harman Accentra 52i and I like the mirrored glass very much. When it is not in use, the inside of the stove is not seen whether it is clean or dirty-at least as dirty as I have gotten it with a couple of test burns. The smoke fog that collects on the glass does show when you are burning, however. Good luck with your "new" stove.

I'm thinking good luck finding that anywhere but a Harman dealer.

I've seen that Harman mirrored glass many times and always thought it was strangely cheesy, like mirrored tint on a car.....until I read your post and realized why Harman uses it. I actually think it's sorta brilliant now.

This was one of my favorite features about my XXV. As you suggested, the stove always looked nice, even though it was dirty on the inside.

when i had my PDVC i had a piece cut to fit it just to try it out, was pretty cool, could see the fire fine when the unit was burning but you couldnt see into it when it was shut down. only thing i didnt like was when i was in start up and couldnt see if the pellets were loading up too much prior to lighting

Two of my friends have them on their P68 and XXV respectively. It adds a nice touch to the look of the stove during those months its not running.
