We installed an Accentra last year and are extremely satisfied. We have burned about 75 bags of Maine's Choice and a few other misc bags. It is really more than simple monetary savings, it is a quality of life issue as I am far less miserly with the pellets compared to the oil. The pellet stove has done such a good job that the oil heat has not turned on once this year - we have only burned about 3/8's of a tank heating the hot water since it was filled last july.
It has been a mild winter in New Hampshire, do not know if we will get away without using the oil heat in a normal year.
Question: Is there any reason that we should periodically cycle the oil heat? The oil burner is only a few years old.
