Hi,
Are we stuck in locating the Kuma Applewood cookstove in the corner where I currently have the recliner located? That is my wife's preference but my choice is where the cookstove is located next to pass-thru. Is this drawing sufficient for your thoughts? The ceilings are 8 foot high. My reasoning for the cookstove next to the pass-thru is 1) it is best to not put a TV under a mini-split so it is better to place the TV on the opposite wall, where I have it drawn - possible condensation drips (highly doubtful) and heat rise from the TV could affect the t-stat on the mini-split (perhaps a small narrow shelf between the TV and the mini-split would negate that heat rise impact); 2) the recliner can be next to the couch so people sitting on the couch and in the recliner can both watch the TV. A big issue with the cook stove next to the pass-thru is venting; the master bedroom is directly above that location and running the duct up thru the 2nd story and out the roof would impact the master bedroom layout. Hmm, I guess I could build a closet in that corner of the bedroom to hide the pipe but that would require relocating the bed, and I don't think it is a good idea to put a bed under the bedroom mini-split (located directly above the living room mini-split). If located next to the pass-thru, is it possible to run the pipe up the wall and then angle it over about 48" to the exterior wall (that might look odd). Or, I just don't worry about the recliner being next to the TV; it is not that often there is anyone besides my wife & I watching TV together.
Anyway, what is the saying? Happy wife, happy life so this all may be moot, and I just deal with any TV heat rise or the very low probability of condensation drips from the mini-split onto the TV
Thanks for your thoughts om the Kuma Applewood cookstove location.
