NICE! He should upgrade to the new 10.8.2 Mountain Lion OS....only about $21 on Apple website. It upgrades Safari and much more.
BTW, great stove burning pics.....love the "hanging" flame in the 1st one.

I know how you got the camera info, but how did you determine my OS?
X10.6.8 is the software version number.
Remember Version 1 never works because of all the bugs people find when it is used out in the field for the first time. LOL ! ! !

Is it the 12.2 MP or the 18.1? I want one but am having trouble justifying the money.
It's the 12.2, which is plenty, unless you're going to make poster-size prints. I went for this model, in part, because it was packaged with a 50-250 zoom lens with image stabilization. The IS works very well!
I'm not very impressed with the software that came with the camera, my IPhoto does about as much, and is much easier for me to use.
I especially like the very short recovery time for the flash. My old camera took a long time to recycle, and I lost some good shots because the flash wasn't ready.
It also takes HD movies, which I am not interested in, but many people are.
I think it's well worth the money, but shop around, there are deals available.
