Hey guys. I recently purchased the Pleasant Hearth PH50CABPS from Lowes. I have it installed in a 35x60 open spaced poorly insulated shop with 15ft ceilings. I installed and vented directly out and then up about 6ft. and have an outside air hookup. I understand that the square footage is somewhat top end for this model and the cubic ft. is probably way too much. I knew this upon purchase but thought it would at least help reduce the necessity of running off my kerosene all day.

The model is rated at 11,000-50,000 btu/hr with a 1225 to 2200 sq. ft heating zone.

With all this said here is my problem. I have a nice roaring fire but really no heat until you are standing within two inches of the blower vent. I've never had a pellet stove before so I'm not sure what to expect....I understand that it is up to me to somewhat push and pull heat around but I was hoping that my desk which is 8ft away would at least be slightly warmed.....is this about all I can expect or do I have an issue which is correctable?

I've had this same stove for a few weeks and I noticed that the air blows in an upwards direction, not straight out. You won't feel the heat until the room has filled or if you're pretty close to it. Some ceiling fans will probably help push the heat down. I'm trying to talk my wife into getting one in our family room which is where the stove sits but she's not budging... yet!
