Finally, found the source of the puff of smoke from my WinterWarm and it's not a gasket problem.

I was sitting to the side of my WinterWarm small, firing it up, and saw a flicker of fire on the side by the latch. I cracked the door for a better look and behind the latch bar I could see into the firebox (see pictures). The opening is about 1 inch long and 1/16 to 1/8 wide - I will measure it when the stove cools down.

Has anyone else seen this in their WinterWarm?

Any ideas how to plug the hole?

Thanks for your input.

I'd use this:

(broken link removed to https://www.rutland.com/p/10/black-furnace-cement)

Thanks for the tip. It reminded me I had some Hi-Temp Stove & Gasket Cement from when I put on the gaskets. I will try that first and if I find it too thin, I will go with the furnace cement.

Thanks
