Hello,
We recently had a used Xtrordinair Wood burning insert installed to our fireplace.

We have used our fireplace insert a couple times since it was installed a couple of weeks ago. Immediately I noticed some discoloration of the panels above the top vent, but thought it could be due to the paint curing.

This morning I started a fire and noticed there's a crack at the seam in the front of the firebox, with light shining through. I shut it down immediately. I am concerned it is unusable in this state. There's been a slight smokey odor to the room which I thought was normal but now expect may be due to fumes leaking through the seam.

Any and all help is appreciated. Contacted the installer but haven't heard back yet. Would like some information from you knowledgeable folks before speaking to them.

Thank you very much

What model is this? Is it an older, used unit? If the front frame face is separating from the stove body it is unsafe to use.

Yes it's an older used unit. I'm so frustrated they sold me a broken unit. I assume it was like this when they installed it. I don't see how our minimal use could have caused this

It looks like a serious weld failure. If so, this unit should not have been sold or installed.
