Found a place in Poughquag, NY selling Barefoots for $220 a ton. hotasswood.com Local firewood supplier starting to sell pellets.

Since I'm from the island I stuffed a ton into my SUV, they will only deliver locally.

I called them and was impressed with the price. I told them I wanted 3 ton and I had a 5 ton flatbed trailer they said fine and we charge $20 per ton load fee. I politely said thank you and goodbye.$60 to load my trailer with a forklift. Sorry that's not happening. I went to Tractor Supply and got 3 tons of Lignetics loaded for $700.50 with a 10% coupon.

$20 per ton just to LOAD a pallet onto a trailer? Guess that may be a way to keep the advertised price per ton down, then get you on the upsell....'oh, you didn't bring your own forklift?'

Others haven't been as kind especially on Craigslist. Several hammered them and I sat back and laughed. One guy was brutal and even reported them to the BBB.
