Prefab Venting

How are ya now! Question on venting a pellet stove (this pellet stove https://www.usstove.com/product/kin...stove-with-blower-2016eb-89000-btu-2000-sq-ft ) through the pipe on my current prefab fireplace. Specs: Fireplace = MBU36 https://www.manualslib.com/manual/920123/Majestic-Mbu36.html
Pipe = 8" Majestic SK83 https://www.efireplacestore.com/maj-sk83.html?refnum=Oct-223-9452 Class A tested for 1700 with short burst to 2100
House = 2 story, about a 35' or so chase. There seems to be some confusion about going from 3" to 8". Some folks say it is ok, others say it is not. If not ok for this model, is there something I should be looking for in a model that will work?
Goal = small inexpensive alternative heat option for large open area of my home. Main heat source is heat pump (worthless in Appalachian Mts. from Dec - March), secondary heat source is propane stove. (great heat but more expensive than pellet, relegated to one room). No gas line.
Any help, suggestions, options, etc.... are greatly appreciated.

As a general rule, you can adapt pellet pipe up to 8” and most pipe manufacturers make adapters for that. It’s easier to brush with a rotary system if you run a 4” liner through the 8” and you accumulate slightly less ash and creosote with 4” vs 8” but it’s a pretty small difference. Instead of setting a freestanding stove in front of your fireplace, have you considered setting a pellet insert in there?

Yeah but I have not seen many inserts in that price range. It may be worth it to step up in price.

I’d go for a castle if you want cheap but decent
