Presto Logs....Idaho Vs Virginia

Back in December I bought a ton of PrestoLogs and they were almost orange in color, good heat, low ash. I picked up a ton yesterday and they are your typical medium to darkish brown decent heat but more ash. Anyone else notice this? Did maybe one batch come from the Idaho palnt and the next from the Virginia plant?

It's more like the feedstock changed. Keep in mind that most pelletizers feedstock changes constantly unless they own a mill and their feedstock is coming from their mill scraps and even then it changes.

The one exception I know about is Somerset. Somerset owns and operates a flooring mill so their feedstock is scrap from their owned mill. It's a nice value added aspect for them, something that was landfilled or incinerated previously.

Somerset happens to be one of the largest hardwood flooring mills in the country, supplying hardwood flooring to many outlets, retail and wholesale.

Also a plant in WV. Likely softwood in ID, hardwood or mix in WV or VA. My Presto's are also very ashy this year.

Turman also Is a flooring company, so they are like Somerset in that regard.
