I am needing to replace my Quadra-Fire CB 1200 Door Rope Gasket and was wondering how hard it was to do it myself. Does anyone have any steps or suggestions on how to remove the old gasket, cleaning, and then applying the new gasket? Also I'm wanting to make sure if I did it myself that I get it lined up right and tight and sealed properly to not cause any leaks or smoke. I can get the parts from dealer for about $20 for the 7/8" gasket and $7.99 for Silicone tube, but they want between $100-120 to do it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Wish I could that kind of rate for a gasket change. Did a simple wood stove today and took less than half hour with a run for a fresh cup of coffee.
Wire brush, a couple straight blade screwdrivers, razor knife to make a nice butt joint and some acetone to clean the channel should cover the simple job.
The screwdrivers should help in removing the old gasket and adhesive. Wire brush to really clean up the channel. Acetone or lacquer thinner to get a clean surface for the new adhesive. Work on a flat surface and after installing the gasket on the new adhesive and cutting in the butt joint may lay on something to keep the gasketing solidly in the channel till dry. Wax paper and some old large books or if the door is thinner clothes pins work well.
Good luck

Not very hard plenty of videos online . The cleaning up of the old gunk takes the longest . I was unsure the first time I did one of mine called a couple of friends who burn wood for a 12 pack he came over and did it . After seeing it done it was a cake walk just go slow and take your time !
