Hi there,
I bought a used 2008 quadrafire pellet stove insert that was stored in a guy's garage for a few years. We tested it out and everything seemed to work great. I cleaned it, repainted it and tested again and fine. This weekend, we installed it in the house. We added new venting for the first three feet and connected it to the old in the chimney, which we cleaned prior to install. Start her up and she seemed to be working like a champ and then it got too warm, so I went to turn down the auger and the stove would not turn down, stayed on high heat. So we went to turn her off with the control panel and she would not turn off. In the end, we disconnected her control panel from the unit to get her to stop. Then we waited a day and and tried her again. this time no lights worked on the control panel. She doesn't turn on now. Any suggestions? Do we need a new control panel and can we get one for an older model like this? We are pellet stove novices so any info would be a great help. Help us exercise this pellet stove demon before Halloween because this is our only form of heat in the house. Thanks!!!!

Michele

Model?

so u took the control board out of unit when it was on? why not just unplug it.. U might have done damage to the control board, or all limit switch are tripped now.
Model number, pictures help

I believe it is a cb1200i. For the record the hubby disconnected it, I told him to just unplug it but he has his own way of doing things(*sigh). After reading the manual online, I think it may have been the thermostat or thermostat connections. I hope he didn't fry the control panel. If limit switches are tripped, how do we fix that? Any thoughts on the thermostat? It seems to make since since the unit didn't shut off...It was like it didn't know how warm it was. If it is the thermostat can we get a replacement? If it is the control board, can we get a replacement? It is an older unit but maybe they are all compatible. Thanks for any info.
