RE: Snow Day last week . . . first significant snowfall

We had a dusting of snow a few days before Halloween, but a storm last week dumped a surprising amount of snow (I figured 3-5 inches) . . . it all melted away in the next day or two, but it was rather pretty . . . then again the first snow fall always is . . . come March the snow kind of loses its appeal for most folks though. In reading some comments on a snowmobile forum where the guys live and breathe for snow, it appears as though the snow was really localized to a small band as some folks got nothing, others got quite a bit and some got just a dusting.

It sure is pretty. I like snow between Christmas and New Year, after that it can go away! It was fun when I was still a snowmobiler, now it's mostly just work. The last two years the snow was so deep that I couldn't cut any wood all winter.

I measured between 7-8" at my place that morning. All gone now but was sure nice to see!
