I purchased a new fan for my boiler , the replacement has arrived but the hole for the motor spindle is about 1/2 inch and the old one only about 3/8 inch.

I'm wondering if there is any way I can pack it out, obviously It must be dead centre. I am thinking about trying small bolts but would appreciate any ideas.

I'm confused about your question, you need to make the hole in the new fan larger for the factory motor shaft? Or smaller?

Pictures might also help.
