Looking at a YouTube video it was mentioned to keep the area behind the door where the arrow point in the attached picture clean with a vacuum cleaner. It was not clear exactly but behind the frame where the red arrow points there a lip on the steel frame and I wonder what it is for and why to keep it clean

It's where the boost air comes from which assists starting. Additional primary air comes from the air wash .
 
Good to know but where is the air wash located for the additional primary air? . Sorry for all these questions but I would like to educate myself in the proper operation of the insert
 
The air wash should be coming out of the holes you see just above the door opening
 
On some stoves these are more of a slot, then a round hole. I don't remember what the Regency has.
