Hi everyone,

I just had a CI1250 installed but am a little disappointed with how it turned out. According to the installer the insert could not be pushed back any further into the firebox without crushing the flue liner. Naturally safety first, but at the cost of a 3/4" gap all around the faceplate and the wall.

Is this a normal occurrence? Is there anything I can do to fill the gap?

Thanks!

Greetings. This happens sometime when measurements are close. Not sure what the liner problem is and whether there is a solution by grinding out some of the damper frame or brick behind it. If not, a piece of 1/2" black painted aluminum angle stock could be attached to the back of the surround as a gap filler.
