According to the manual the door gaskets for my Vermont Castings Dutchwest 2461 is 7/16". Looking online in local stores I haven't found that size, the closest is 3/8" Would that be ok to use? I figured what's in there now has been at a reduced diameter for a while now.

Also - saw a video where someone used spring clamps to hold the gasket in while the glue sets. Wouldn't just shutting the door to the same?

Thanks - looks like Woodmans is a good place to have an account.

If I was to buy a gasket locally, would it be unwise to use 3/8" gasket? I think I already have the glue and it would be marginally narrower than the 7/16".

You should be able to find 1/2” local. You can stretch the gasket out it slightly to get to 7/16”.

Yes I see a couple places have 1/2", and good idea just to stretch it a bit.
