anyone know what kind of stove this is? says RL ember-aire II on the front and made in taiwan on the back
someone was gonna scrap it and we grabbed it now im trying to find out what kind of wood stove we got 😅 looked everywhere but cant find a thing about it

Seems like it, and they tried to seal it.

If so, the stove would be best used as an outdoor fireplace of scrap metal.

Can anyone say more about this stove? I just purchased a home and have this same model I think. It seems pretty well maintained. Is this thing worth keeping if I don't have money for something newer, or am I asking for trouble Any advice appreciated!

Congratulations. The stove is old, but may or may not be in good shape. We need pictures of the stove insides, and the hearth to have a better idea. The flue system also needs to be professionally checked out. Equally important is whether the installation is safe and up to code. Is there a UL label on the back of the stove that specifies clearances.? If not, your insurance company underwriter may not approve.
