Can roof guys support be put on an existing chimney (superpro) without disassembling chimney? The reason I ask is that I'd like to put on another support, and my chimney extends more than 10 feet above roof line; Roof is steep 12/12 pitch -- it would be quite difficult to do.

The one I got for my Simpson Duratech could be opened enough to go around the pipe. Should work with any brand 8" O.D. chimney.

I bought a Selkirk Metalbestos brace for my chimney. It has two bands that connect together around the chimney. You would not have to disassemble the chimney to put it on.
