Well here is the Rookies report. Location-What they're made of Comments.
1.Heatrs- Arizona-peyote buttons-very dirty,but love the cleanup.
2.Northeast-Ashland Me.-Old canadian licences-hot flame quick burn,Tar sands flow in the pot.
3.Maine Wood Pellet-Harmony Me-65%Moose and35% deer droppings-Hot flame slow burn-smelly cleanup but lower ash than the rest.

What works well on your stove may not work well in others and vice versa.

Pennington 25% Bermunda and 75% Red Fescue. Clean burning but neighbors keep calling the FD reporting a wildfire somewhere. Cleaning includes mowing the firepot.

Dried and ground road apples....

Burns well with hot flame but cleaning is smelly.

My wife's horses make them daily, I make no claims whatsoever.
