My Greenfield has run great for several years. Had to repace the main board with the newer mode about a year ago, worked fine. Recently the room fan runs at erratic speeds and is noisy. Today it seems to be running very slowly, even stopping at times despite the stove being on a higher setting. Do you think it is voltage output from the board or the fan going out?

Welcome to the forum!

One way to tell for sure is to monitor the voltage going to the motor.

Odds are the motor bearings/bushing need lube.

Have you ever blown the motor windings out with compressed air?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have blown them out with compressed air. The fan was squealing quite a bit. When I start it the fan does start at what appears to be full speed, but once it is up to temp and running it slows down. You can hear it go from fast to slow to medium to fast. Yesterday it completely stopped with the stove on a fairly high setting so I was concerned with it overheating so shut it down. It smelled like an electric motor shorting out. When I turned it off and back on the fan ran again at high speed on the initial startup like it is supposed to do. I'm going to pull it apart tomorrow and see if I can figure it out.

Yup, sounds like a lube issue to me - but you'll know more tomorrow. This is an AC motor, yes?
