Hi all, Currently burning with a Quadra Fire Discovery 1. Nice small stove that runs hot and burns my seasoned oak clean. I have the opportunity to get a load of warped Sapele boards from a woodworker. A Google search states it's a low resin wood with a high oil content. Not sure if the oil content will cause a creosote issue. Anyone have experience with Sapele? If its an issue I'm going to pass and keep my unit clean burning. Thx

I think if it's dry, (<20%), I'd go for it. Free is free.
Oil shouldn't be an issue if it's natural in the wood. I burn quite some pitch pine. Resin. Not a problem either.
Boards, though, have a lot of surface area, so they can take off quickly.
I'd stack them tightly in the stove and mix with other wood.

I agree with stoveliker. One time a guy gave me a bunch of clean unfinished oak flooring cutoffs. I put a few too many in my leaky old Hearthstone that I had at the time and had an exciting time trying to control it. Go ahead and burn it but be careful with how you load it or how much you put in at one time until you have a handle on how it burns.
