I should have done this sooner! After cutting up some short pieces last weekend, I felt my age catching up to me when I had a sore back. I would normally cut anything less than 4 inches in diameter in two or three foot lengths for our fire pit. With a sawbuck, I could cut several branches at the same time and save everything for our wood stoves. It was much easier on my back and safer. I used the plans from the website below but made it shorter and move the third support to one side. I adjusted the side supports a couple of times until I got the height and angle that was most comfortable for me.

A sawbuck is helpful, but if you are doing a lot of wood that size I recommend something like this. This really saves time and your back.
