First post here. I am installing a direct vent 0 clearance fireplace by Empire. It uses 8 / 5 duravent venting. I am using the reccomended wall thimble through a wood framed wall. My question is do you seal the junction of the outer pipe and the thible opening? I can see a little light penetration from the inside.
Thanks for helping.

You can use tape gasket to seal this area. It will prevent cold air penetration through that gap. Simply wrap the vent pipe where it enters the wall thimble.
