I just did my fall cleaning of the jotul. I swept the chimney, cleaned the dust off the stove and noticed light RUST near the door hindges and around the door gasket. Is there something I can do in the spring to help prevent this light surface RUST? Maybe a dissicant bag or smear alittle light oil on it (I know it will smoke a bit during the first burn. Thank you

A light coating of oil should suffice.

I think I would use mineral oil.
