I am in the process of building a new high efficient home. It will have twelve inch thick walls full of insulation. I am looking to add a gas fireplace. The issue I am running into is the dealers in my area all carry fireplaces that are deep. The depth would mean either the fireplace would need to protrude into the room or outside.

Can anyone recommend a fireplace that is shallow any maybe only protrude into the room by no more that two or three inches?

Thanks

Some of the shallowest fireplaces are Heat N Glo's "Slimline series", approx 15" deep. A number of MFRs have similar depths in some of their lines too. Good luck.

For all those needed a shallow gas fire place. I found a USA that makes them. The company is Solas. And it is their slimline design. The actual depth is eleven. Granted one would need more depth in the opening for insulation. But starting with a depth of eleven inches with the right insulation you won’t need to much more.

One issue I ran into is that Maine has a lot of trees and most people want a wood fireplace or convert a wood fireplace to gas. So we don’t have a large selection of dealer or a wide selection of manufacturers represented.
