hi
i am a happy owner of a new BK sirocco, should be burning the paint off pretty soon to be ready for next season. Meanwhile i would like to install some kind of wood shelf above the slate wall (picture coming) i would like to know if the self does'nt sit above stove do we still need to respect the alcove height clearance, or would it need to be made out of non-combustible.
it is a corner install and there is over 8 inches from corner to wall, and the shelf would be below 8 inches
thanks

The Shelf would be above slate wall

Clearance to the stove pipe needs to be 6" if double wall and 18" if single wall.
