I have a defiance masters choice wood stove insert. It has a brick lined floor but not on the sides. I assume it was designed that way. The stove has a Great Reaburn system. I was wondering could I improve the efficiency of the stove and the burn times if I had a brick to the sides of the stove?

I would guess adding brick would change the inter-flow of air through the stove. The fireboxes very big and it's the older style that has the triangular shaped intake tubes on the sides. Has anyone out there tried to add firebrick to the sides?
