Went after work again today. Different spot, this is in the river bottom. 2 big water oaks that fell a month or so back. They were just the right size that I could cut them with the 20" bar from one side. I started cutting the brush and slung my chain. OK cause I was going to put a brand new one one I just forgot my scrench so I didn't. Now I'm forced to get the socket set out to do it. Then I started cutting. This thing screams with a brand new chain and the muffler mod. Was throwing chips 10 ft or more behind me!! I cut 8 rounds then decided I better try and load them before I cut more. I hate leaving rounds ESP right on the road side. Granted I think I'm one of the few people in the state getting wood right now but still.

Loaded the first 6 then the biggest one and another one I noodled as I was winded and tired. I guess there at least 150# but maybe 200? Once loaded I didn't want to go part loaded so I cut some of the top up to fill up!

Would of been way easier to roll them up the trailer. Just didn't think it was that big!

Oh yea I know what your thinking...yes it was sitting on the bump stops.

Any guesses to weight? I'm thinking 1200 ish and about 1/3 cord?

Now the pics I promised!

Awesome! hopefully you can get the rest before anybody else jumps on it.

Nice! That looks like quite a few loads. Goin' back tomorrow?

Nah won't go back tomorrow its 25 miles away. That's a bit far to deadhead just for a small ranger load. Maybe Monday or Tuesday!! This is about half a mile from my office. Work then cut wood and go home.

Awesome load. You could balance the weight a bit with one riding shotgun.

Very nice. Throw a 2x6 in the bed when you go back to at least roll into the bed.

Ha. I have a bigger truck! I have a 1980 chevy k10. It will hold more but the tailgate is at my waist. And it drinks the fuel. I can make 2 trips in this for the same price in fuel. Also the small truck keeps me from having to cut so long after work yet still make it to dinner.

My groin hurts just looking at those rounds! !!!

That is really impressive looking, great stuff! Oh, to be younger again-that would've killed me lifting those monsters....

That truck just refuses to die !!! I love it ! Good haul clemsonfor.

It has like 295,000 miles on it too. I assume it had a flipped odometer when I got it reading like 55k and I have flipped it myself and now its reading 95 k. One year alone I put about 35,000 miles on it. I still will drive it wherever. A few years ago we went on about a 7 he round trip in a day. And I have the AC back working so I can ride like I'm in a meat locker!

A couple of my old s10's where like that they just would not die ! Even the last one though old and tired ran when I sold it with well over 200000 miles on a 2.2L 4 banger. It got abused just as bad as your ranger so I stuck air shocks on the back.

This is the 2.3 probably one of the best motors ford made behind the old 300ci straight 6's. I'm convinced the springs sag more than most on this one.

Ya made it squat a bit but you got the job done.

HOLY CRAP !!!!.....that poor truck

Got it split tonight. Went in before o stacked it all. Was cleaning g up around house all day sat and half today so I did not get started till late today. Between a 1/4 & 1/3 cord like always. Was getting about 24 split per round. I may split smaller than some so that it dries better. In the pic with the splits there is still one round in the truck. The bit stacked on the far left that is white is this load as well. Wood taped out to around 19"s.

Sweetness...Thats what a truck is made for... To haul stuff... Good lookin' wood too...:)

OK I'm weaker than I thought. I got a USFS paper that list green weights of woods and converted the rounds to cut and took the green weight per cuft of quercus nigra and figured out that they only are about 135#s.

135lbs isn't anything to laugh at...nice haul and hard work!

I hope, U have some really good brakes on that truck.
How many miles to get it home ?

It was right around 25. Not hard to stop it really. Load was 8 of those rounds plus some small so total lost was 1200#s or so? What really tests the brakes is hooking the 3500 bass boat to it!!!
