This was my policy - get to splitting those rounds right off of the trailer. But my small splitter broke so I couldn't split the rounds this year. And my big splitter's engine was bad. And I now have 4 big piles of unsplit rounds. I was unable to split it before it hit the ground. I finally got a splitter working by swapping a Honda GX engine onto a Dirty Hands 22-ton splitter. I'm back in the splitting business. But I have been busy collecting wood this year and now have a lot of wood to split. There are many rounds. Woe is me. I enjoy the chain sawing part more than the splitting part.

If you bring it here, I'll split it. By hand. (And for my stacks.)
Saves you all that nasty splitting:-)

Oh, you aren't going to like this wood - Spruce & Willow. But you might like the Walnut and Sib. Elm (Locust already split).

I've had black willow and spruce. It won't go in my main shed but will be nice as quicker drying emergency stash.

I'm not sure about the elm tho (hand splitting...)

So far this year i have not had time to add to my 5 cords that was seasoning in my shed...
I wish i had piles of rounds in the yard to split.
I will have to buy some wood this year by the looks of my "get done before winter" list

Some guys have a house painting ''party.''

How about a wood splitting party?

There was one for a user in MA who had a broken arm and couldn't split a few years back.

I've had splitters with bad engines, I just hook the hoses to the hydraulics on my tractor.
