just build a pole barn with a 12-8 pitch and a loft. i decided to go with side wall chimney pipe but now im wondering if its still worth it to use wood burner in barn because of height . my question is do i need to go above the height of the barn ? it seems like it will take a lot of pipe to get above the roof line .

Here is the guiding rule.

Lol seems like I will be so high and a lot of work
If you want to heat with wood that is the height it needs to be. What is the building going to be used for?

Does the roof have a very steep pitch? Are there stove location options that place it closer to the roof ridge?
