I replaced my door gasket today and i used the high temp 600 f red silcone instaed of the gasket glue which i fine come loose and crumbles off.


Do you think the silcone will stick good and not burn off.
 
Depends on the stove. That silicone can probably take slightly higher temps than that....just that it starts losing color and other properties. Time will tell.

I have always found the best gasket cement to be Heat-Safe, which is a heavy liquid - NOT a paste like Rutland, etc.

once you use that stuff, you never go back to the other junk.

My stove has always had the white fiberglass rope and I am seeing the graphite available now... Would I be better off using the graphite rope? I plan on replacing a couple gaskets during the off season..

All the Quad units use the red RTV silicone now. Seems to hold good.
