Bought a new fix-r-upper today. Homelite super 2. Top handle arborist saw with dual triggers.

Nice score. What needs fixin'? Or do you need to open 'er up first before you know the full story?

The black plastic on the top handle is broke so it will get replaced if I can find a replacement. The gas cap is trashed. Will probably replace gas and oil tanks and new hoses. Fuel filter,air filter,spark plug, maybe a carb kit. The recoil spring is toast. Other than a deep cleaning I hope that's all.

That is an interestingly strange machine. I don't believe I have ever seen one in person. Is this a 30cc category machine?

30-40cc I've found conflicting info.

Interesting saw. So what exactly is the 2nd trigger for?

The top trigger is the same as any other arborist saw. The rear trigger is for bucking.
