I have noticed 2 small defects on the glass of my Montpelier insert. They are very small, and look like they might be air bubbles. The glass came from the factory this way. According to my dealer, it is not an issue, but it makes me a little nervous with the heat cycles the glass experiences. Just wanted to get some expert advice here. Anyone know if this is something to worry about?

I am having the same stove installed soon, and all I can say is that if I paid for a new stove, I would want it to be rectified. The dealer should step up for you and get a new door or glass. It should not have any defects if it is new, IMHO. You paid for it, get what you paid for.

That was a little quick. It's a flaw, in a ceramic material made by pouring on a slab. Have you ever heard of the glass melting in a stove? Not likely a bubble with air (more likely a vacuum) but a flaw from an impurity. Should you scrap the stove and go back to electric heat? Duh....
Don't scare the plebbies... Enjoy your stove don't stare at the flaws stare at the flames.
