In the most optimal circumstances, burning a dry well seasoned wood when the temperature outside is low and there is great draft, what color smoke should you see? How can you tell that your wood is going to couse a buildup of creosote?? It is getting cold in my area and when driving today, I saw different colors of smoke
from blue to white. That got me thinking. Any thoughts??

They told me none . so far my new dw when hot none . but I only burned it like 10 times well 11 no 12 i rthink

White smoke is steam coming off.

None best, white as said is steam, any other color is not good. Accept at start up or reload, then you will get some smoke.

The white smoke is the moisture you will see that has been gased off your wood. This pic is at -52C. Yes that is icicles on the
edge of the cap. No smoke though!!!
