"Snowbirds" and not the human variety...

Think I have finally figured out what bird I call the snowbirds ... they cluster in this area on their way south but they usually disappear just before we get snow. Snow bunting

When they take flight, they look mostly white...

They make their way down to western Mass in winter - usually see them fluttering around in flocks over snow-covered hayfields. They look like bleached sparrows.
