Right now with all of the late spring storms, there is so much wood available. I really need to just take a day off of work, mentally prepare myself for a day of driving, and load some of this stuff up. i could probably get ahead by 2 years in a weekend with everything that people are getting rid of!

Just consider taking some days off as a mental Heath break. You are the only one they can make it happen

I got off of work early yesterday and had planned to collect from the tons of cut wood that were downed around the power lines by my house... Instead I got roped into hanging pictures with my wife. Did I mention that I hate hanging pictures?

i came home to about a 1/2 cord of pine and maple dumped in the driveway with about 3 yards of woodchips. I see stuff so often around here that I have decided I am just going to go with the free delivery guy and if I happen to take the truck to work and see something, then I will go get it. I need to process the stuff that I have (i have a ton of piles of longer stuff that needs to be cut up and split), and get it all in one place before I keep adding to the pile.

i got another text yesterday asking if i wanted wood.... i said "sure thing".... next thing I know, i have another pile 5ft high and 8ft around delivered to my yard. Some of it was bucked up, others in longer pieces. i spent about an hour with the saw bucking it up, but I am still having issues with my saw. I think i need to just rent the splitter and get this stuff processed. no way I am going to do it by hand!

but I spent about two hours on this beast until I paid someone to finish it off. Will snap a picture of it tomorrow.

it took a guy 3 hours, but he got this thing out. now the question is what do i do with it?

So did somebody offer firewood but dump a load of dirt with a big stump in it, or am I misunderstanding the pictures?

In my opinion, "beggars can't be choosers" covers branches, punky wood, and gnarly rounds, but it does not cover dirt and rootballs.

I dug it out most of the way instead of cutting up the piles that people dropped off. Not sure how to get rid of it

I'm assuming that was a project in your own yard.
But was it a " must take stump" craigslist free wood ad ? :)

Our town has a stump grinder and it is just about the only means to dispose of it.

I am thinking of trying to sell it as a piece of contemporary yard art

ha !
