Yesterday and for the past few days we have been running the little stove at night and shutting it off by mid day, then re-fire about sun down.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaa, yesterday evening we did the re-fire about 7 ish.

This morning we had a light dusting of Snow and a cold house (66F)
Time to bring the Big Whit back on line for a while.

Weather dude says low snow levels and unseasonably cool for this week :(

Never a dull moment eh ????

    Snowy

Blizzard warnings out for here tonight but its over 40 and partly sunny now. Firing up the tractor to dig out shed doors to get at the cycles and supplies as the doors are still stuck in 3 foot of hard compacted snow. More work:(

I think we're supposed to get some Spring like weather on Thursday.
Can't wait! This unusually colder than normal Winter/Spring sucks.

    UH HUH, SURE DOES.

I shut the little stove down and gave it a cleaning this afternoon real quick.

Back on line for the night.

I don't know what we are going to see for temps this evening, but may need a short run from the biggun in the early A M

If the sun peeks out early it will warm up easily though

Even down here in Ga. the weather took a sharp left turn. it was in the 70's for two days after freezing every night. Today it never got above 38 and going down to 32 tonight.

The cycle here seems to be a couple of nice days followed by 3 or 4 colder days, couple of nice days again. Last night was -31C/-23F. Is it too much to ask for some warm??

We had a couple inches of snow last night so had the Kubota out to clean up so it doesn't become slop. I've had enough of winter:mad:

One of my hobbies other than hanging out on hearth, is to follow the weather and read threads about it..Basically to sum it up, us people in the Mid Atlantic and New England are not out of the woods yet, although the relative temps are not going to be as brutal as they were in January or February; seasonal averages are going to be way below normal, put it to you this way, a normal end of March day for me (nnj) would be low temp of 30-34 and high temp of 40-45 (higher sun angle, longer day light) this year I suspect to be in the low 20's at night, and hovering around 32-35 during the day, rapid cool off at night due to the extended snow pack. Another thread discusses (not to make anyone worry) is a larger storm hitting our whole area during 3/25-3/27 time frame, ahh no fun, but it is what it is, we cant change it so we might as well have fun with it and enjoy what mother nature gives us.

Im predicting a long hot summer with not much of a spring in between. Why? Because its already hot and dry out west all winter and during late spring and summer around here, that just moves east without the jet stream bringing alaskas cold down to us every other day.

Hmmmmm, hot and dry out west ???

I'm in NW Oregon and it's certainly not hot, and definitely not dry.

We had a zero F overnight low back in Dec, and I have not seen one of those in 50 years.

Just new ice age creeping closer me thinks.

WE should see the glaciers sliding down main street soon.

I'm in Portland and we are 5" short in rain for the water year, so I'd say it was a dry winter. It was clear and cold for the most part. Area still under moderate drought.

Looks like Spring will be here during the day for the next little bit.
