I am thinking up ways to keep my alcove wall temperature down. I've got the back side taken care of with a heat shield on the back of my F600. However I want to have something along the side as well.

I'm thinking something like this may be a perfect solution:
(broken link removed to http://www.plowhearth.com/27-inch-stainless-steel-fireback-in-black-finish.htm)

I figure I would put it at least one inch away from the alcove wall to create a protected surface. I understand you need at least a 1 inch air space between the wall and the shield, along with space around/under for air to flow.

Thoughts? Thanks!
