Stash Update March 1...

Refresher: Bought 9 tons of Cleanfire Pacifics (softwood) pellets & took delivery in mid-October. Split the supply between my garage & the main house, with 2 pallets (3 tons) going to my daughter & the P43, while Deb & I got 4 pallets for the P61A in the A-Frame . The LAST bag from the 3-ton stash went in last night. Still have 82 bags left from the 6-tonner. Both stoves have been burning two-a-day for the entire month February, since it's like the 3rd or 4th coldest in recorded HISTORY. I'm hoping to make it to mid-April with what we've still got & don't plan to buy any more til October. Fingers crossed that March will start to mellow from the Lion into the Lamb creature they're always talkin about...

Have maybe ton left or so, have some old stash 2-3 yrs old like GS and N/A's which both suck, burn those in Apr.

We are hoping the same on the lion thing. Just took an inventory and came up with 62 bags left out of 257 to start the season.
Late January and the month of February dug deep into the pallets

Started with 4 tons. Burned about 2 tons. (incl. dhw)
Oh, and about 2.2 cords of wood.
So far. The coldest weather might be on the wane, but there's still plenty of chilliness remaining.

82 bags left out of 221 on the season. If I run out I'll let the electric furnace kick in..hasn't been on all winter and I don't think I'll need it.

Have burned 255 bags this season, approximately 80 left on hand.. Two bags, plus per day, put a dent in the supplies .Usually use near 90 between now and May...Probably try to get a ton this week..sigh...

6 bags left plus 5 bags of Equine bedding pellets for emergency back-up ! Country Comfort says might get shipment mon. or tues. ? Agway says maybe weds. ? 25 degrees with 3 inches of snow already this morning and to change to freezing rain ! Ugh Hope Home Cheapo, Lowes, and TSC are selling lots of Grass Seed today ! !

Through yesterday (Feb 28) have used 238 bags between two stoves, with 79 left in inventory, This is 8.5 bags over projected use season to date. Based on planned use for rest of season I will finish with about 7 - 8 bags left, the closest I have ever cut it. If I see an exceptionally interesting pellet I have never tried or a good deal over the next 45 days I may add a few bags, but otherwise will just run out current inventory.

Amazingly, I used 79 bags during the month of February - a new record by far. Projection was only 61 (based on last year) but then I remembered that I was in Florida on business for 5 days last February so 5 - 7 bags that would have been used in the office were not burned. That means we are still up a dozen or more bags over last year for the month.

Considering changes to house over the spring and summer that will tighten it up even more (hard to complete projects ID'd by the energy audit a few years back) but may also add an outbuilding and heat it with pellets. If so, plan to add even more storage. Who knows how much I'll need to buy next year, but definitely at least another 6 ton repeat...
