I think some of you folks will dig this. I got my new fireplace surround up today. I ordered 3 28”x28” steel panels from Brandnerdedigns.com to hang above my fireplace. When I bought my house the existing masonry fireplace surround had been stripped down to the cinder blocks for some reason. I love the look of natural metal patina finishes and hung the panels with French cleats so they can be removed if I want. The first pic is the original drafty fireplace. What do ya think?!

That's a pretty inventive covering, and I like the appearance. Can/would you install a hook to hang things on it (wreath, painting, picture)?

I like it.

Very nice...

I could....Maybe even a magnetic hook. There is a sealer over the patina. i think they said its a thin urethane or wax sealant.
