I did this fix for a customer who was almost pulling their insert out of the hole trying to open the door. I only had some 3-in-1 oil but I suggested some graphite powder after that burned off or dried up. It worked great after the oil treatment.

That what I said. Oh well, if the oil works for a month just keep oilin it!
