Looking at a used, freshly rebuilt, MS 310 for $325. Worth it? I am currently cutting with a MS 250.

310 don't a big jump I would hold out for at-least 390 or 360. 325.00 would not be a bad deal for it.

Whats a new 390 cost now a days? when i bought my 390 8 years ago it was right at $500 but i think i had to pay like $40 extra dollars for the 20" bar instead of the 16"?? Anyway that would of put it in the $450 range then. I think it was like $500 out the door but i just cant remember. I just went with the 390 as it was just a bit more than the 310 and weighted the same but had a noticeble more power for the same chasis and motor basically.

I disagree with Jay, the 310 will be a noticeable jump from the 250. Same saw as the 290 and 390, it just the middle child. Who the hell rebuilt a 310 and didn't put a 390 jug on it? ;lol

The asking price is a bit steep. Would be a lot more enticing at $250-275 but condition is everything when it comes to saws. The MS361 can be had for $350-400 and that saw will out gun a 310 for sure and still be 2 lbs lighter. ;)

These 2 exact thoughts came to my mind I just didn't say it.

I would rather run a 250 than a 310. And another way to look at it I would never make a 10-15cc jump! And fell good about it.:) I am not a big fan of a 390/361 either but that would be where I would draw the line (preferable bigger) if I was setting on a 250.

My dad picked up a used 310 on the bay for 300. Barely used. Easy to find from what he told me. I think you could do better on price.

It isn't bad...but I'm spoiled by my 361. Should be a nice step up from the 250 if the price gets right.
