Last year we had a little over 4 tons and we ran out. Pellets here were hard to come by and we just made it by with buying about 30 bags when they were available. This year we decided to start with 5 (should be way plenty) and go with all Hamers instead of some cheaper ones and saving the Hamers for really cold days.

Oh and the picture is only about 4 of the 5 tons. I was tired from stacking and just couldn't lift them up higher to do another few rows at that height.

Here's a 6 ton pile.

Even the Dog looks tired! Nice job stacking.

Ha I wish she could have helped. I will say my 8 year old son was a huge help. He helped the whole time and while he didn't move as fast as me he still probably did a 3rd of the moving and stacking.

Have you burned those Hamer's before? A local store has them for $265/ton. Wondering if they are worth it. Thoughts?

Yes we have burned them for the last 3 years. Usually we buy a cheaper pellet too and save the Hamers for really cold days. Last year the cheaper ones made a huge ash mess in our stove and since Hamers arent that much more we went with all this year.
