i will be preparing next years and other years wood and was curious if anyone had a specific amount of time split hardwood can be stored, and is it worth while to cover it, tarp or shed,
i would like to get as much as i can split and hauled to my place as possible so i dont lose the rights to some of the wood
i just dont want to cut it and then let it sit for a couple years and it go bad
thanks for looking

If you store it in a dry place it will keep indefinately. Some woods keep better than others in less than ideal conditions. Birch would rot if not covered.
