I have a storm/screen door to my deck that is fairly old but in decent shape. It is has a full glass insert that can be replaced with a mesh in the summertime, I'm guessing that since I've only lived there about 3 years, it's probably 10-15 years old?? Anyway, it has a deadbolt that is lockable from the outside via a key and inside via a knob and a lever handle on both sides.
Unfortunately, the inside lever is bent and is "out of phase" of the outer level and also bent down. doesn't affect the operation of the door but is kind of awkward.
I tried to remove the handle to see if I can fix it or replace it but I can't seem to get the assembly out. I might need the key which I don't have.
My question is do they actually sell replacement lock/handles for storm doors or would I have to buy a completely new one? I'm considering also trying to see if I can bend the handle back up using locking pliers on the outer lever and bending the inside one. (I think they are connected). But just wondering if they are replaceable if I can figure out how to remove it.
Looks like this:
(broken link removed)
(I guess that probably means that it is replacable if I can get the old one out somehow)
Although not that fancy, this is a basic white aluminum door with a glass/mesh insert.
I don't think I have the key for it and me thinks I need to take the lock out to remove the whole assembly...
