Hi everyone. I have a Lopi Liberty that I had to temporarily remove due to a remodel and just reinstalled. However, due to some clearance changes the stove will need to be offset from the flue pipe as seen in the picture below whereas before it was a straight connection. I’ve never used elbows, but I am thinking that adjustable elbows may be the only solution. Is there a way to tell if said elbows can be adjusted to fit the rise of 16 “and offset of 4 3/4” I have before purchasing? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That shouldn't be a problem. It will depend on the stovepipe, but with DuraVent DVL you can achieve a 5" offset in 13.75" using 45º elbows.

be green, thanks for the reply. That looks to be my best bet. It does say that the 5” offet at 13.75” is with a 0” chimney section between the elbows, but is that possible? Is there a coupling of some sort that connects two elbows without increasing the distance?

I am guessing not... You may have to slide it out or to the side further. You have 20 3/4" to work with. My 6" double wall 90's measure 5 1/2, 6, 5 1/2 for a total of 17" (approximately - they're hot right now...) at the widest points. That's not enough. 2 90's would be about 13" rise and 13" run and to adjust them to 16" rise you'd probably end up around 8" run. I'd guess pulling it out 4-6" would get you pretty close, or out 2-3" and to the side 2-3". See photos. I have 2 90's making a total of 90 degrees. Rise of 13" edge to center and run of 9" edge to center. Vertical pipe is adjustable. Clearance was pretty tight. Set the stove where it needed to be, set the horizontal pipe, adjusted the 90's to align, adjusted the vertical to proper length. You might be able to do it with 1 90 and another short section of pipe though...

That is with no coupling, just elbow to elbow. The table is accurate and yes it's possible. We have the next size up offset (8.75") with a 6" piece between the two 45s.

What type or brand stovepipe are you using?

Elbow to elbow works fine. That's what I did to miss the truss on my Endeavor. 5".

Jmb6420, thanks for your reply. Will elbows connect without anything else needed? I wasn’t sure if I’d run into male/female end compatibility issues if trying to connect two elbows directly.
Yes, they can connect to each other directly, the same way straight pipe does.

Sorry, I just saw your question. The pipe I had previously installed was the Selkirk DSP stove pipe. Although, I am looking at the Duravent DVL because their 45 elbow is adjustable and I'm not sure that Selkirk offers an adjustable 45. It would be really helpful if the elbow would connect directly to the stove, but it seems an adaptor is inevitable.

Selkirk shows a 6" offset for DSP when connected, elbow to elbow with a rise of 13 7/8".
