I have been gifted an old Kalamazoo box wood stove with an 8.5” round chimney outlet. Will it be safe to use an adapter to convert from the round outlet to oval so I can use my existing masonry chimney with a 6-3/8” x 10-5/8” rectangular clay flue? The chimney is 14’ tall from the top of the stove to the cap.

I’m concerned about the reduction in area from an 8.5” circle (56.75 sq in) to a 6” x 10” oval (47.12 sq in) . Thanks in advance for any advice.

You may get smoke roll out with the small area of the liner and small height.

Can they break the clay liner out?
